AECA attended to a new beach-works follow-up meeting

El Castillo beach-works follow-up comission met again on 22nd March.

Attended to the meeting: the President of the Cabildo, Marcial Morales, the Cabildo Public Works Council, Edilia Pérez, Antigua Mayor, Juan José Cazorla, the Head of the Canary Coast Demarcation, Rafael López Uribe, and the President of AECA, Francisco Ufano, among others.

The Canary Coast Demarcation informed that:

  • The works will be finished by 31st March
  • The project to remove the mud affecting part of the beach, will be implemented trying to reduce any possible inconveniences as much as possible.
  • They also explained that there is a project to remodel the promenade between Frasquita Restaurant and Barceló former animation kiosk.
  • The technical studies about the sand confirm that it is compliant with the legislation.
  • Finally, in an attempt to introduce the most adequate vegetation according to the specific natural habitat of the beach, they have chosen coconut palms instead of palm trees.
